Rijeno builds and configures chatbots for businesses across Manchester. We work from an office on Rochdale Road, supporting shops, clinics, trades firms and online sellers who need a faster way to answer customer questions without adding staff to the phone line.
The company was set up in 2014 by a small group of developers who had spent years writing customer support scripts for call centres. They noticed the same pattern everywhere: most incoming questions were simple and repeated daily, yet staff time was spent answering them one by one. A chatbot handling the first reply, with a human stepping in only for the harder cases, seemed like an obvious fix. That idea became the starting point for Rijeno.
Our mission is straightforward: give small and mid-sized businesses in Manchester a chatbot that actually answers questions correctly, instead of a generic script that frustrates customers. We measure our work by how many enquiries a bot can close without escalation, and by how quickly a customer gets a useful reply.
We want chatbot support to be a normal, unremarkable part of running a local business — not a novelty, not a gimmick, just a working tool that sits next to the phone and the email inbox. Over 12 years we have set up bots for 1,260 clients, and most of what we build now reuses lessons learned from earlier projects rather than starting from a blank page.
A chatbot should say what it means. We avoid vague scripted replies and write conversation flows in short, direct sentences that match how customers actually ask questions.
We tell clients upfront what a chatbot can and cannot do. If a request needs a human, the bot should say so and hand it over, not pretend to understand.
A bot configured once and left alone drifts out of date. We review conversation logs and update responses so the bot keeps matching how the business actually operates.
Every chatbot project follows the same sequence, regardless of the size of the business. This keeps timelines predictable and gives the client a clear point of contact at each stage.
A request comes in through the contact form or by phone. Our typical reply time is 4 hours during working hours, and we ask a short set of questions about the business and the type of enquiries it receives.
We go through past emails, call notes or website enquiries to list the questions customers ask most often. This list becomes the backbone of the chatbot's first version.
The bot is configured on the chosen platform — website widget, messaging app or both — and tested internally with real sample questions before it goes live.
Once live, we check conversation logs weekly for the first month, then monthly after that, adjusting replies that customers are not finding clear.
About 30% of our clients — 381 out of 1,260 to date — return for a second project, usually to extend the bot to a new channel or update it after a change in services.
Rijeno currently offers five service packages, from a basic FAQ bot through to fuller setups that connect to booking systems or order tracking. Across 12 years, the team has completed 2,471 jobs, working with one clear focus area: Manchester businesses that deal directly with the public.
We do not claim a fixed success rate or guaranteed outcome — every business and every customer base is different. What we can say is that the team has handled a wide range of cases, from a single shop wanting a simple opening-hours bot to firms needing a bot that qualifies leads before passing them to a sales team.
